Advice for Carers
Welcome to our new website. It has been quite a few months in the planning but at last we get to interact with our clients and contacts and hopefully make some new friends along the way. I have personally arrived in the technology age with a bit of a bump so please bear with me as I blog, tweet and facebook my way nervously into the virtual universe that is social media.
I am sure you will have questions and queries, which we look forward to receiving and hopefully answering for you. We also want to help you share news about your projects and successes with other site users so if you are part of an organisation or group and have an event coming up let us know and we’ll help you spread the word. Remember we love, love, love to see photos of your events and we can always make space on our noticeboard for the best!
You will notice that we have launched our new 24/7 advice line (0800 652 1956) so feel free to use it if you prefer a voice at the end of the phone to deal with a query rather than sending an email.
We also hope to get some informed discussion going on some of the more topical and perhaps controversial issues of the day so make sure you follow us on twitter and like us on facebook and don’t forget to subscribe to our RSS feed.
If I am beginning to sound as if I actually understand any of this techie jargon it’s because I am surrounded by people who actually do- how impressive are they?
If you need factsheets or information on any areas of advice where we may help simply use the contact page on the website and we’ll get them to you asap. If you need printed versions let us know as we prefer to be paper light whenever we can, to do our bit for the environment.
Remember whilst we are good at listening we are also very good at advising. Powers of Attorney, Guardianship, Wills, Trusts and much more, we can help.
If you have a story you would like to share with us and our network of friends or want to link to our directory please contact us with details.
We will have our first contributing feature soon which will showcase an organisation which we admire and think should be held up as an example of “people power”- and specifically “parent power”. We think it demonstrates what a lot of you are doing out there and the sorts of challenges you are facing as carers every day. Which leads us nicely to our quote of the month which we hope will inspire you to keep on doing what you are doing!
“If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere.” – Frank A Clark
See you next month
